Gerber 08239 MP800 Legend Multitool for sale

Gerber 08239 MP800 Legend Multitool for sale
As being a building superintendent, I wear a multi-tool everyday on my belt, and use it often. I had been really looking foward to getting the Gerber given it offered two main features i always wanted - single-handed opening blade, and tools that all lock open. With all the multi-tools being manufactured today, simply mind boggling how few offer these crucial (in my opinion) features in an tool. The Gerber Legend will be the only tool I'm aware about that has both a single handed opening blade and tools that most lock open. If anyone looking over this knows of another tool which has both these features, please tell me.

Well then , i'll first say that Gerber makes many great innovations on this tool. The rotateable/replaceable inserts with the wire cutters is an excellent idea, with the replaceable jigsaw blade and also the spring-loaded pliars. That being said, I'll organize my review into two classes - Major Mistakes and Niggles.

Major Mistakes - The pliars don't open wide enough. The particular tips on the needle-nose pliars don't even pass an inch apart---15/16ths to get exact. To purchase enamel from the pliars, you'll need to be 5/8ths inch or smaller! Compare these numbers while using Leatherman Super Tool's 1 3/4" opening with the tips along with a full inch-plus in the teeth. I'm that this small opening on the Gerber pliars will disappoint a lot of people - simply won't be capable to grab plenty of stuff you'd expect to manage to. Personally, easily can't pull off a shower-head or fawcet aerator with it, that's a lot of the usefulness in the pliars gone at that time. Major, major mistake on Gerber's part, particularly (seemingly) this can have easily been engineered differently.

Some tools are challenging to open. The phillips screwdriver recesses beyond the boundary from the tool if you close it fully, making the nail catch unattainable at. Luckily, the tip of my pinky finger is small enough to acquire in there and pull it by the tip. But I understand a good amount of guys for whom this may be impossible to spread out. Ditto with the file/large flatblade...it features a thumb-nail catch...however when you close it fully it gets completely recessed behind additional flat-blade screwdrivers! And I mean totally! But if your hands are greasy or sweaty (the lot practical) you're not received it out without taking the rest of the stuff out first. Major, major mistake on Gerber's part, especially when this can be so easily fixed - there's plenty of room there for just a nice accessable nail catch.

Niggles - The rubber grips are stickers then one was released within the second day of use. Why place them in any respect? Have you thought to just cast the knurled surface in the handles? The completed of the tool is nowhere nearby the finish of any leatherman. Casting marks are evident for the handles, the thumb-studs are inserted after which impacted in the other side to hold on to them in situ (which may be an exceptionally strong and lasting (time will tell) and cost-efficient way to gather but is ugly and cheap-looking. The jigsaw blade is stuck place by way of small metal clip that does not appear like it will eventually withstand much abuse (time will inform using this type of too).

It is a shame I couldn't give this tool an improved review. It has a lot of stuff looking for it...easy fold, innovation, plus a great locking system that's user friendly. I must say i desired to as it even so the pliars thing is so major...I'm going to have to change it out eventually just for that 'cause this doesn't happen pay to hold finished . around easily can't grab stuff from it. Cause me to feel one with all the fit and handle of an Leatherman and fix the other simple stuff and you've got it.
