Leatherman 831102 Super Tool-300 Multitool with Premium Sheath for sale

Leatherman 831102 Super Tool-300 Multitool with Premium Sheath for sale
I live in Tasmania, Australia and received my package today from a little over a couple weeks, whilst you can image I became very excited if the mail arrived.

I bought my dad an authentic Supertool years ago along played around that has a friends Supertool 200 which I really loved. I'm able to only say I'm very disappointed with this tool - for a number of reasons I'll now explain.

First thing; the packing box could have contained more packaging. It just had a single air-cell meaning the contents were about free jump around. They wer epacked very loosely. Incidentally Also i got such a Smiths sharpener that's brilliant value. So both of these items were wot very secure at all. Pretty darned poor actually and I've given feedback to Amazon relating to this.

I removed my Leatherman Supertool 300 from it's little cardboard box and it also was engrossed in fingerprints, grimy and franky very smudgy which instantly put me off. It sort of appears like someone ended up experimenting along with it before despite it supposedly being fresh. It also had some black fibers embedded on there indicating someone had put on the extender in the sheath before. I read another review somewhere on here where someone else had similar problems (with fingerprints etc.) sticking with the same model therefore i guess it is not only me on this issue.

The tip on the pliers were ground off somewhat on the one hand more(a) additional. This means they weren't flush (neat) within the ends, the whites was uneven. This has implications only planned to say wrap wire neatly round the end with the pliers. This is just bad quality control in anyone's language and is particularly definitely a factory issue they must have a look at. I rushed into Hobart and checked out a model within the shops. The pliers were perfectly neat and machined unlike what I received today. Arrghhh!!

The tool when closed wouldn't normally close tightly. The 2 elements of the handles flopped around loosely with a grap of say 3/4 inch. It absolutely was loose and also the two handles would rattle and open quite freely specifically in the sheath. How utterly annoying.

As a contrast I acquired a 4 dollar Chinese multitool not too long ago. To be honest crap but even though, the handles close rock solid and tight superior to the Supertool I acquired today. This bothers me. Again it's quality control issue.

The sheath is detrimental. Too wide for this model. Also when worn sideways the tool is sure to happen. I guarantee it. The opening is too large and tool is heavy and yes it slides out when i tested it. You are unable to prevent it. That is a really bad sheath guys, a bad design. The sheath will simply fit a narrow belt. The sheath is really a poor design for outdoor activity and EDC (ignore that). If I is at the Army I'd that would be that otherwise you're gonna look plus your tool will probably be gone. Negative.

It's also WAY heavier and chunkier compared to other Supertools I've used and seen. Way too heavy for my belt. Okay, others say it doesn't mind the weight. Let me tell you: If the knife or tool is heavy you'll turn out unwilling to carry it around. This thing is ridiculously heavy and cumbersome specifically in the stupid sheath. It seems like carrying around a small brick.

Guys, I appreciate some of you have had great experiences with this particular tool. Usually the one I bought today exhibited poor quality control and (at the very least) I definitely could have expected Amazon to evaluate against eachother and ensure rrt had been clean before sending.

I am sending it here we are at Amazon ASAP. It'll probably cose me $40 Australian Dollars to reship this so I feel a lttle bit upset by this. But anyway my loss I assume.

Most of these problems has been prevented and given I'm at the bottom of Australia I would have paid the additional cash and made the purchase locally.

I may exchange this for just a Leatherman Wave MAYBE from Amazon but like I said, in the event the ditto happens again I'd be really peeved off.

I'm hoping this review has helped. Best wishes and be careful.

Paul.
