Gerber 22-01463 Coyote Brown LMF II Infantry Knife for sale

Gerber 22-01463 Coyote Brown LMF II Infantry Knife for sale

I purchased this knife to switch/retire my 30 yr old USAF/USN issue pilot survival knife with leather sheath. The Gerber knife blade is of excellent quality and did my way through my test that my issue survival knife did-no better-no worse. The Gerber sheath is an additional story. The sheath is built to be placed on a GI vest hanging the other way up so that you pull (with a few authority)right down to release the knife. In case you wear it on your belt you'll want to attach a minumum of one with the leg straps to support the sheath down while you pull the knife out. Without a leg strap you may need 2 hands to obtain the knife out that is not to practical. There are also 2 snap straps holding the knife within the sheath at the same time. A very good design for anyone who is paratrooper, but quite hard to utilize and snap with the knife with your hip. If you wear the knife on your hip, the purpose for the butt cap employed to break glass will stick you in case you lean over thereon side. With all the Gerber sheath you will not ever lose the knife, but not very practical with the public and it is very bulky. I purchased a new nylon and velcro sheath for $10 for my old knife all of which will carry on using it instead of the Gerber
