Spyderco byrd Meadowlark2 Black G-10 PlainEdge Knife for sale

Spyderco byrd Meadowlark2 Black G-10 PlainEdge Knife for sale

I originally bought the previous style Meadowlark given it complies to perhaps the most restrictive carry environments, in addition to inside the secure subject of an airport. Most non-permissive environments restrict blades to below 3 inches. The Meadowlark meets that requirement which has a blade length of 2 7/8".

The Meadowlark 2 meets a similar requirements. My original Meadowlarks had steel bodies. To switch them I splurged and bought the Meadowlark 2 with G-10 scales. With full 1/16" liners, this knife is massively overbuilt. With the same basic design as the Spyderco FFG Delica 4, as well as the same steel as Spyderco's economy models (8Cr13MoV), this is actually the greatest in a EDC knife that There really is yet. It weighs a lot less than my original Meadowlark with full steel construction, but feels bigger than my Meadowlark 2 FRN, plus the action is smoother than the FRN version likewise.

The Spyderco pocketclip design is usually an improvement in the old Byrd design, plus, the clip may be mounted in almost any on the list of four corners from the knife, unlike an original Meadowlark, which only had two mounting choices.

The G-10 grip isn't as aggressive as the FRN, but, as noted, the liner is a bit more substantial along with the added weight feels nice inside hand.

Packaging, should you care, has changed in the old, big box store, blister pack, to a slide-by box, in conjuction with the Spyderco line. The Byrd's eye for the G-10 box is gold, compared to the FRN, which has a silver Byrd's eye. Forced me to be feel special. Like I said, who cares, right?

Blade design is additionally bigger versus the original. The initial Meadowlark had a "beak" as you're watching bird's eye about the blade. The Meadowlark 2 continues straight from the top of the blade to the end. The flat ground blade can be another nice improvement above the old hollow ground blade. One advantage, in addition to price, that Byrd has over Spyderco, IMO, will be the Byrd blades all have a very choil for the lower blade, i.e., a location for your index finger to be on the blade if you would like block into it.

If you're not restricted by local laws, find the Cara Cara 2 (cf. towards Endura 4). For anyone who is restricted, like me, go with the Meadowlark 2. At $25 it's half the price of the Delica. Get a nice sharpener, sharpen it a couple of times 12 months, so you won't notice the difference.
