The Sage knife represents Spyderco's 30-year pledge to knife crafting and continuous improvement. The Sage has a CPM-S30V steel blade that has a PlainEdge that's ground flat for precise cutting. The blade is paired with a twill-woven graphite handle that vibrantly combines bonded multi-colored fibers. The weaving runs deep, making ridges and textures for that palm to grasp while gripping and cutting. The knife's main distinguishing feature, however, would be the LinerLock folding system. Designed by knifemaker Michael Walker, the LinerLock system is one of many ingenious locking devices and mechanisms that Spyderco recognizes using the Sage series. The Sage concludes using a silhouette wire pocket clip that adjusts for left- or right-hand carry.

Spyderco will donate approximately five percent of sales from the Sage towards the National Alzheimer's Association Denver, Colorado chapter.

This model (Sage-1) recognizes knifemaker Michael Walker’s contribution towards knife industry together with his coming of the LinerLock and needle bearing detent. Although produced in Taiwan, the flat-ground blade is produced with USA-made CPM-S30V stainless steel. It can be associated with handsome twill-woven carbon fibre handle scales and chromium steel liners. This exceptional design fits the hand perfectly, offering superior control and cutting performance. A reversible silhouette wire pocket clip supports right of left-hand tip-up carry and Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole ensures positive, ambidextrous, one-handed blade opening.
